Student Growth Percentile

As part of our commitment to implement multiple measures of teacher effectiveness, we have adopted a new process for examining student growth on the CST. Through a partnership with the Value Added Network we have developed the Student Growth Percentile (SGP) measure, which helps us understand whether students are meeting expected growth targets from one year to the next.

To learn more about SGP, your can review the Growth Model Percentiles Summary Sheet the The College-Ready Promise Growth Model FAQ, or the 2011 Alliance SGP Explanation (01-10-2011) complete Power Point. You may also want to view the Value-Added Analysis Network’s presentations:

This year, we ran an analysis on all tested grades in ELA and Math. Beginning in the 2011-12 school year, Math and ELA (and possibly Science and History) teachers will have direct access to their own SGP data.
